Portland to Seattle

Wednesday 15th May 2013
Breakfast at 8am and off walking down the street. Raining and only 54F. Found  Pete a Chiropractor so he could get some relief from the sore back he has had for a few days. He is all good now. While he was there Betty, Geoff and Debbie took a walk downtown. Collected Pete and decided not much point continuing to walk around Portland so back to the Mark Spence Hotel to check out, load the car and head for Seattle. Stopped at Johnson Ridge Observatory at Mt St Helen's about 3ish we are at 4200ft and only 42F and still raining. Listened to a Range talk about the Eruption in 1980 and watched a film about it as well. All very informative. Pitty about the weather so only part views of Mt Helen's but good views of the valley and surrounds. Back in the car to warm up and head to Seattle. We have had lots of laughs today a fun day in together in the car. Betty & Geoff  have done a great job of out itinerary and planning on what we are going to see. We are so glad to be sharing this trip with them. We are creating Great Memories and seeing so many wonderful places.
Night view of Space Needle - Seattle
Geoff has done a great job of the driving, Peter a good job as navigator especially when the GPS said "recalculating" many times as we drove into Seattle tonight. Checked into our Quality Inn and Suites and walked down to the Sports Bar for some dinner, then a few photo's of the Space Needle - which Deb insists in calling the Space "Noodle" much to everyone's amusement. Back to the rooms around 10pm. Internet a bit slow so will try and post tomorrow.
