Sleep in this morning after late night last night and no need to pack the car as we have a 2 night stop here in Hood River. Nice large rooms and comfy beds which is good. Breakfast included and served in the restaurant cooked breakfast all round. Hit the road by 10am and a quick visit to the visitor centre and first stop Menaloose Overlook for a view of the Gorge. Then onto Rowena Crest for a greater overview of the Gorge with lots of wild flowers out at the moment making for a colourful outlook.

| The Dalles - Old English Style home |
Traveled the Old Historic Highway, narrow winding road to The Dalles and took the self guided "Trevitt Historical Walk" among the old buildings and homes some restored and some in need of some TLC. Lunch int he park before heading off to see Dalles Dam and the across the River to the Washington State side. Walked back to take photo's of the Washington State sign and Deb took a tumble while climbing to find a better view! Luckily she was not carrying the camera at the time. Small cut on the hand and I think some bruising to show up tomorrow, all good no broken bones. Drove back into Hood River with views of the other side of the Gorge, across the Toll bridge. Then back to Mosier to walk the Mark O Hatfield trail to view the "Twin Tunnels" original restored tunnels. Great views of the Gorge.

Back to the Motel by 7.55pm and a chance to catch up on emails, diaries and the Blog. Now it's time for bed midnight so much for a early night. Looks like I will be sleeping in the car tomorrow afternoon. What's that Pete "nothing unusual about that!"
