Alarm woke us at 8am ready to start our day, after a good nights sleep.
Breakfast in our room and off out the door by 9am. Walked down North Point Road to the Wharf and along to Pier 39 and along to Pier 33 to collect our Alcatraz tickets and we continued along to Pier 1 with great views of the Bay Bridge and San Fransico Belle Paddle Steamer. Have seen where the America's Cup Headquarters will be in July. Took the 11.30am cruise to Alcatraz, we took the self guided tour of the Prison which gave a real inside to how it was when it was an operating Prison. We then walked around the Island as much as we could. Gardens looking fantastic with all the flowers in bloom. Some great views of the Golden Gate Bridge and San Fransico as well. Back on board for the 2.35pm cruise for the return to San Francisco. Walked up to the Coit Tower and took the lift to the top for some wonderful views of the city. Walked back down again into China Town then Lombard Street (Crookedest Street). We then walked to the top as well. Ate dinner at Loris Dinner at Ghirardelli Square. All too full to enjoy Sundaes so will have to do that when we return in a few weeks. Walked back to our rooms not really sure how many miles we walked but must be a few!!
