Penticton to Revelstoke

Saturday 18th May 2013
A fair bit of rain overnight and a cool start to the day. Breakfast in our unit this morning, then for a walk around the Lake front area of town, as it was starting to rain again we decided to check out and so car packed and on the road at 10.25am

Took a scenic drive around the Lake. First stop Quail Gate Winery lovely views down over the Lake. Looked around the winery and on the way again.

Stopped in Kelowna and lunch in the Civic Park, our usual biscuits, cheese and tomato and finished off with Blueberry muffin. Our parking meter had expired so was good timing to shift the car when we noticed that a protest was due to start right where we had parked the car, found another down the road with 1hr 48mins still on it so parked there good thing given we do not have many Canadian coins yet, having only crossed the border late yesterday. Took a walk in the Kasugai Park - Japanese Gardens at the back of the City Hall. We came across a very chatty security guard who was full of information only trouble we do not have week to do all the things he was suggesting. Walked around town to the Orchard Museum which had interesting information about the early days in the Orchards, picking and packing of the Apples.

Left at 2.50pm and headed to Vernon to look at the Murals around the town. Parked the car walked around for half an hour and took some photos on the road again at 4.15pm one more short stop at Sicamous for loo's and arrived in Revelstoke at 6.20pm. Checked in and went for a walk around town, we can see the snow capped mountains surrounding the town. Had dinner at he Village Idiot Bar & Grill. Decor very interesting with a Ski/Snow theme. The chair backs at the bar where made from Snow ski's. We got a 20% discount as 3 of the mains we first ordered where not available. Back to our rooms about 9pm. Debbie had a FB Skype call with Kirsty but Peter was already in bed before she called. We head on up into the Rockies and into Banff by tomorrow night for a 3 night stay so much to see along the way I had best get some rest.
Till my next post bye for now.xx
